In the video A Iinha Abstracta do Olhar, Maria Lusitano inquires into a line without physical existence that is one of the central elements in the composition of a painting: the horizon. In an almost fixed shot on a landscape that incorporates a road and a fragment of grass, we observe cars and people moving by. What remains constant is that line that we cannot see and that we only come to understand through the passing-by of the people. If its existence is visually denied, it is revealed through contemplation. |
