The series to which ll-lustre belongs explores the universe of spatiality and baroque sophistication. They are inner spaces of palaces referring to a romantic world, from a past time (reinforced by the use of only black and white). The duplication of the image of the chandelier makes one think that it is reflected in some surface or other (mirror, marble?) and its tight framing simultaneously suggests movement (provoked by the passing of the wind or of some shape?) and the feeling of claustrophobia caused by the impossibility of seeing the image in its totality. |
